Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying over a well-attended California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling wildly, finally losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm trees as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded on social media show the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck between palms and a staircase adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters said five persons were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Authorities indicated the helicopter was linked to an annual “Cars N Copters” charity gathering set for Sunday.
